I have always wanted to tan a nice golden color. All I get is a burn unless I use sunblock and then I stay the same. I have to resort to fake tan whilst I look on in envy of my own children. Don't you feel sorry for me??
Not really...but then I don't find the whole "tan look" to be so desirable. Perhaps because I look like snow white myself?? After going to visit Taiwan, where EVERYONE wants to be white and tries to prevent any tanning whatsoever--it made me wonder why the US is so obsessed with being tan. Silly.
I still think it's funny to see, even if tanning isn't so very healthy. But, as long as you are wearing the sunblock you are doing what you can to prevent skin-damage and cancer. When I was a kid my Dad would call me his little Indian girl since I got so tan in the summertime. I wore sunblock religiously, but somehow still got that golden look! Must be the Venezuelan genes!
